Write about new beginnings after living in Amsterdam for quite a while may sound a bit obvious. The situation itself was a pretty dawn big new beginning. But one of the many reasons that made me in awe of this land was the compulsory nature of small and mundane new beginnings.
For each and everyone of us living here is offered a whole new city, new lifestyle, new ends and new beginnings basically every three months. The seasons come and go bringing and taking the best and the worst with no mercy.
This eternal spiral set a new pace to my life. A pace to enjoy the now!
I must enjoy the sweetness of nectarines and mandarins now. The delightful of white asparagus and spaghetti squashes. The sunny boat rides and the crisp ice skate rides. The flocked terraces and the empty snowy streets. The cold cotton candy sunrises and the warm fire burning sunsets. The garden in full bloom and the golden leafs pavements. The elegance of stacked layers and the freedom of not wearing a jacket. Now and NOW!
But instead of focusing on the fact the doesn’t matter how much I love something – it will be gone soon – I chose to embraces the simple and admirable pleasures everyday – and it will begging again! I´m not saying it easy, but a candid feeling of knowing I enjoyed it to the fullest prevails.
But please, let the cappuccinos stay! ;)
